The Honduran Emerald is an endangered hummingbird found only in Honduras and is considered the rarest bird in Central America. It is found only in dry thorn forests, where it feeds on nectar from a variety of cactus species. Unfortunately, most of its habitat has disappeared as a result of agriculture and especially grazing by cattle.
